Why are, or were, you in academia?
I was a Pre-Law student in college but took a class in Political Theory and was fascinated. The debate between different perspectives on human nature, society, justice, etc. caused me to go to grad school and become a professor. The free, open intellectual discussion and debate of the academy is the most exciting, fun, rewarding life.
What do you hope for your students?
My hope is that something sparks their curiosity and they live as intellectually and spiritually seeking humans.
What do you do outside of your academic work?
I love nature, Classical and Sacred Music, animals, prayer, meditation, laughter and friends.
